In 24 hours, this hero became a case file number in Telangana. Palle Thirupati Reddy, a constable at I Town police station of Mahbubnagar district was awarded `best constable’ on Independence Day. He received his citation from Excise minister V Srinivas Goud.

The following day, the Anti-Corruption Bureau trapped him while accepting a bribe of Rs 17000 to do a favour. The case reportedly pertained to accepting money from a complainant for not booking a case against him.
